Exeter's Diamond Jubilee commemorative sculptural artwork by Studio Roso has been designed to evoke and create memories. Its diamond shape inspired faceted mirrored leaves capture the memory of the tree which once stood near to this site and memories of Her Majesty The Queen and HRH Prince Philip's visit on 2nd May 2012. The large scale sculpture will follow the curve of the building, its mirrored stainless steel leaves forming an artistic link between nature, architecture and the public space. The sculpture will cast shadows and capture natural light to create an artwork which will subtly change colour and tone during the course of the day and add great appeal to those who journey past. The aim is to begin to create an artwork which strives to create as wide a universal appeal as The Queen herself enjoys.
